Enhancing Children’s Literacy Experiences Through Story Sacks (Niagara Licensed Child Care Program Educators Only)

Literacy is one of the foundational skills that young children develop beginning right from birth. Story Sacks support the development of literacy through providing a storytelling experience with associated props. The props invite additional learning opportunities by inviting children who have not yet learned to read with the materials they need to verbally tell and act out a story. This also helps visual learners with comprehension and gives educators a unique way to capture the children’s attention. During this session, participants will explore the key aspects of story sacks and the ways in which they can implement it in their early learning environment.
