With One of the Featured Authors in Think Feel Act, Dr. Kathryn Underwood, Toronto Metropolitan University

Saturday, October 17th 2026, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM EST
Type: In-Person

Dr. Kathryn Underwood will offer the opportunity for participants to think deeply about inclusive practice and how inclusion is embedded within their early learning programs. Participants will explore new research-based strategies for supporting inclusive practice, informed by both educator and family experiences. Early learning and child care programs are deeply embedded within the community, and children’s experiences are intertwined with the faces and places they interact with each day. This workshop will offer participants the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge base and provide new tools and approaches to build upon our understanding of what inclusion is and how it can look in early learning. Among these ideas that will be explored are the importance of knowing and understanding each individual child, considering the language that we use, as well as exploring the idea that inclusion is not just for children, it is for everyone within that space, including families and staff teams.

Registration includes lunch. Please include any attendee allergy or food restriction information on the Notes page in the registration.
